RE: PETITION FOR THE STABILIZATION OF FORESTRY WORKERS IN SICILY.
Given that despite the introduction of the Regional Law on the reorganization of the forest in Sicily No. 14 of 2006 (promulgated in pre-election period) actually represents a significant step forward for the conditions of forestry workers, however, it is considered insufficient, both from a strategic environmental and agroforestry system on the more purely social work. The social Forestry worker does not evolve, does not move from precarious unstable GUARANTEED STABLE;
Given that in spite of continuing agreements between trade union federations and regional governments, in the direction of improving the condition of workers, that reached last May 14 last year (in pre-election period for Europe), substantial results leave much to be desired, as shown, the subsequent determination of the Regional Government in failing to put the agreement itself and the unions to agree, even withdrawing the strike they had called for September 30, 2009;
Noting that various governments and trade unions, over the years, rather than work towards the stabilization of all the forest, with 'occurred in last in the Campania region, to different interests, seek to foment strife between his birthright for a quota in order to divide the overall strength of the category;
Since these divisions have in fact weakened the bargaining power of the sector, not allowing him to get the results you deserve, that is, improving working conditions, and then reaching the stabilization of all, without exception.
That said and considered, the undersigned trade union leaders, laborers and Forestry asked the institutions to address to identify the economic resources to reorder the forestry sector in the direction of adapting the forest area the national average and the stabilization of all the forest in Sicily, taking into account the guidelines of the document that is attached to the petition.
